Wilderness Survival + Greenbar
ELECTRONICS REMINDER 📱🕹️
One of the great benefits of heading out on any of our trips is that we’re able to unplug from our digital world for a few days. Electronics are allowed while traveling to our destinations, but we have a longstanding rule that Scouts are not allowed to use electronics while on our trips (i.e., if they are brought, they’ll be left in vehicles and not used during the trip).
SUMMARY
ITINERARY
This is a mixed weekend of adventure. The Greenbar group will work on rank advancement and scouting skills. There will be a chance to complete the 2nd class rank hike requirement 3b of a 5-mile hike with a compass and map. This portion will be under the leadership of a few older scouts.
The wilderness group will work on the Wilderness Survival merit badge with Mr. Webb. Scouts will complete the required lesson and build their structure for a night of camping under the stars. Scouts will have a special packing list, which is attached above. Scouts who are participating in the wilderness group should have finished at least First Class requirements 1-5 and 7.
MEALS
Greenbar Scouts: Meals will be organized based on the number of scouts; the details will be discussed at the meetings before the outing.
Wilderness Scouts: meals will be provided by Mr. Webb
Adults: Meals for Saturday are on your own. Sunday’s breakfast will be with the scouts.
