ELECTRONICS REMINDER 📱🕹️
One of the great benefits of heading out on any of our trips is that we’re able to unplug from our digital world for a few days. Electronics are allowed while traveling to our destinations, but we have a longstanding rule that
Scouts are not allowed to use electronics while on our trips (i.e. if brought they’ll be left in vehicles and not used during the trip).

ITINERARY

This is a trip for both younger and older scouts.
Younger scouts will be hiking and camping on the beautiful Latimer Reservation, we’ll learn and practice the core fundamentals of backpacking. Saturday, we’ll hike a little over 3 miles to their backcountry campsite, and Sunday, a little under 2 miles back out - with gentle elevation throughout. The hiking trail at Latimer is in the heart of some of the most popular sites for hiking and camping in the state - it’s just across the gorge from the Virgin Falls State Natural Area and just north of Fall Creek Falls State Park.
Older scouts will experience all of the beauty of Latimer Reservation on the 10-mile mountain bike trail using either a Latimer-issued bike or their own bike. Your ride will take you to all of the naturally beautiful areas of the Reservation. You will see rock formations, an old coal mine that closed in the 1940's, Scott Pinnacle, Caney Fork River Gorge, waterfall, and the overlook. Keep in mind that the terrain around Latimer Reservation goes from very easy to very challenging. This is no ride in the park!
Each participant must have a signed, completed Health Form and Parental Informed Consent and Hold Harmless Release Agreement (attached above).
