- This is required reading. When we get to Philmont we’ll all get a pocket sized hard copy of this. It’s worth noting that as of Dec 2024 this is the version from last year - it’s possible there will be some slight changes when next years is published, but the bulk of the content should still be relevant. - This contains info on all of the different itineraries available next year. Each crew will pick their top 6 itineraries, we’ll submit those in Jan/Feb, and Philmont will make assignments on Feb 14, we should know what itinerary has been selected within a week of that date.Another site worth consulting is - they load all of the itinerary info up and will show you which treks contain activities that you’re interested in. - This is not necessary for Scouts to read, but all adults should be familiar with it - this is the superset of all information that Philmont provides.

For our high adventure trip for summer 2025 we’ll be returning to the . We have 3 crews and as of Dec 2024 we still have room for a few more Scouts to join one of our crews. The following is a brief outline from the Advisor Guidebook on how to prepare physically for a Philmont trip:
If you do not already have a regular fitness routine, now is the time to start! We will also have several practice hikes and backpacking trips this spring to practice together. The following are a few good options for hiking or running in the Nashville area:

TRAINING
We need to have at least 3 people per crew with a current Wilderness First Aid and CPR certifications. These certifications are valid for 2 years, so if you got it last year for Seabase, you should still be current for this trip. Any adult or youth aged 14 and up can take the training. This is a 2 day course. If you are an EMT or have other medical training, that may be sufficient.
