ELECTRONICS REMINDER 📱🕹️
One of the great benefits of heading out on any of our trips is that we’re able to unplug from our digital world for a few days. Electronics are allowed while traveling to our destinations, but we have a longstanding rule that
Scouts are not allowed to use electronics while on our trips (i.e. if brought they’ll be left in vehicles and not used during the trip).

SUMMARY

WHAT: Canoeing the Buffalo River from Grimes Canoe Base
DEPART: Friday, Sept 8th, 5:00 PM from Christ Community Church
RETURN: Sunday, Sept 10th by 4:30 PM at Christ Community Church
RSVP: CLOSED
MEALS:
Friday: Dinner on your own (eat before you come)
Saturday: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Sunday: Breakfast
COST:
Scouts: $61 Canoe ($22 discount using OWNFOOD-GRIMES if bringing your own food)
Adults: $29 (food is on your own)
Bring money to buy lunch on the way home on Sunday

ITINERARY

We’ll head down to Grimes Canoe Base in Linden, TN along the Buffalo River on Friday where we’ll spend the night in one of their base sites. Saturday morning they’ll drop us off on the river for a 25-mile trip over 2 days. We will eat lunch along the river, and spend the night at a campsite on the river. Sunday morning we will finish our trip and return to Grimes Canoe Base.
Parent/Guardian(s), we will email you when we leave the base with an expected arrival time back at Christ Community Church.

MEALS

Menus should be suitable for backpacking (i.e. no coolers or refrigeration). Check out

Breakfast: in base camp
Lunch: on the river
Dinner: in the river camp
Sunday:
Breakfast: in the river camp
Bring money to buy lunch on the way home Sunday.
Scouts: Meals will be organized by patrol and the details will be finalized at the Troop meeting on Monday, Aug. 28.
Adults: Consider pairing up with a friend (old or new) for your meals to make things easier.
